As we noted last week, Foursquare decided to experiment with a new feature for Super Bowl Sunday: Promoted Venues. Specifically, they created a "Super Bowl Sunday" worldwide venue that anyone could check-in to to let others know that they were watching the Super Bowl. So how did it go? Well, when it wasn't crashing the network, really well! Foursquare has a post today detailing the experiment. Apparently, there were over 200,000 check-ins on Super Bowl Sunday from all around the work. In fact, as we suspected, it became the most checked into venue ever ? and it took just four hours for that feat to happen. Foursquare also says that it was the largest online check-in event of all time.Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Techcrunch/~3/k3Vvj5m7wD4/
